Riddell, a leading manufacturer of football protective equipment, has unveiled its ND6 youth helmet collection for the 2026 fall season, becoming the first major brand to comply with the new NOCSAE ND006 youth football helmet performance standard—more than a year before the rule’s mandatory enforcement on September 1, 2027.
The ND006 standard, finalized in February 2025 after over a decade of research, addresses critical safety gaps for young athletes aged 6–14 by capping helmet weight and introducing youth-specific impact testing protocols. Growing focus on children’s head protection has also brought expanding market demands for diversified kids sports helmets.
